Introducing HUD's $100 down payment programThese are historic times. Nearly every day there's news of huge financial institutions facing collapse, stock markets plummeting or government actions that may or may not improve things. One program that makes sense is HUD's $100 down payment incentive: If you buy a home from HUD at their asking price, live in it for at least one full year and use an FHA loan for your purchase, you can use a down payment of only $100. I've put up a website on HUD's $100 down program at http://100dollarHUDhomes.com. By the way, in the old days HUD homes had a reputation for being in poor condition. Today that's changed -- although many HUD homes do need some attention (some serious -- see this $1 home in Indiannapolis, for example), many HUD homes today are in excellent shape. We even found a HUD home for one of our buyers which had never had anyone live in it before! A house becomes a "HUD home" if its owners had an FHA loan in place and were foreclosed upon. With FHA loans becoming so very popular lately, more and more clean homes are showing up as HUD homes for sale. |
